Statistics is an underappreciated field. People may not trust statistics because it is sometimes manipulated for an agenda. Basic statistical literacy is important in our data-driven world. My goal is to help people understand how to interpret statistics critically. Most statistics talked about in the media comes from readily available data and can be easily calculated. In my work studying the 2016 Presidential Election, I learned that there is a lot of misleading math out there. Sometimes the statistics are incorrectly done or interpreted wrong to be misleading, but I believe most of the time ignorance is why statistics are done wrong. Statistics can be incredibly useful if you understand how to make and interpret statistics. I hope to increase statistical literacy one reader at a time.
My mission is to discuss the role of statistics in our daily lives and current events and to analyze the effects on the certain event on American elections.
